Are there any moderately-priced digital cameras with time lapse capability?

My newest obsession (um, I mean, hobby) is time lapse photography. I can do it using my webcam, but I need something more portable than my laptop. Do you know of an inexpensive digital camera that has the capability to continuously take photos at intervals without limit (other than memory or battery)? Please help! Thank you!
Forgot to mention – I know there are several out there that are higher end – priced above $500. Unfortunately that’s out of my price range.

There are a few cameras that have built in intervalometers but you could probably rig one up with a BASIC stamp and a IR photodiode for under $75. Then all you would need is a camera capable of being actuated by a IR remote. There are hundreds of those!

I have designed intervalometers using simple 555 timers and a switching transistor. Available for about 75 cents.
