Can you help me decide if I should keep my new Olympus digital camera.?
I just got an Olympus FE-230 1.7 new digital camera. Is required xD memory card. Gateway Media Center My laptop has a port that accepts SD memory cards in size, but not the least xD. I have not even had the camera out of the box. I'm thinking I should change it to a camera that requires SD card so it will be compatible with my computer. Please help me decide. I do not need anything special, just a basic camera and it seems to fit the bill. Would it be better with one that takes SD cards? (For compatibility information) There seems to be more SD cards on the market that XDS. Does that mean better? If I were to buy a camera today would make no difference to you if take an SD card or xD card? Thank you.
The camera you bought is a very nice camera and is inexpensive. I would say you should have the camera and you should buy a card reader or just use the USB cable included with the camera (albeit a bit slower and will eat some battery life), but you can recharge the battery and the time to keep up with that you should just use the USB cable in the box. Keep the camera. SD is no better or worse by the way, but so do Fuji and Olympus XD and that's one way they are able to compete in the digital camera mkt. making accessories property.
