How do get pictures off of my sony cybershot digital camera?

I can’t figure out how to get the pictures off of my memory stick. I just got this camera, it was my mom’s. I would ask her, but unfortunately shes not around to ask. I suppose I could go looking around for her directions to this and stuff, but I figure it might be easy to ask first. The model is dsc-w55. I stick the little disc into the e drive and when I try to open it, the screen on my computer starts flashing and says that the device is not found, please insert disc. Help would be greatly appreciated!!

OK, this is the reason WHY I STOP USING SONY AFTER SPENDING lots of $$$ on Sony in the last 10 years.

They always have this Sony-only propriety things.

First thing to solve your problem. Try loading the Sony driver. Afterwhich, in many cases , you memory stick (magic Stick) might not work on your PC’s multiple drive reading. Seriously.

So get the wire that you connect on to the camera direct to the PC’s USB port. This will work. (after you load the driver)

I mean, leave the memory stick in the camera and download from camera via USB cable.
